QCMS Strategic Plan.

The QCMS Board of Directors has a Strategic Plan that will serve as a "road map" for the school over a three-year period.  This plan balances the interests of all of our school's constituents, based upon the values that have guided QCMS since it founding.  This plan is very ambitious and success will depend upon the efforts of the whole QCMS community, including the QCMS Board of Directors, faculty, staff and parents.

The following Mission Statement and eight high-level goals serve as the foundation for everything proposed in the plan.  Above all, we want to preserve an environment that is special for each child and helps guide development according to principles first espoused by Maria Montessori.

Our Mission Statement:  “Quad City Montessori School (QCMS) is a not for profit independent school committed to providing the environment and resources for children to develop li
felong learning skills."

  • hire & maintain a full-time professional School Administrator

  • increase enrollment and determine responsible growth numbers

  • expand programs and facilities

  • diversify income and stabilize finances

  • operate a Governing Board vs. Managing Board

  • increase community awareness of the school

  • provide parent education opportunities

  • strengthen parent involvement

  • "There is only one basis for observation: the children must be able to express themselves and thus reveal those needs and attitudes which would otherwise remain hidden or repressed in an environment that did not permit them to act spontaneously. An observer obviously needs something to observe, and if he must be trained to be able to see and recognize objective truth, he must have at his disposal children placed in such an environment that they can manifest their natural traits."
